An important part of a young child’s life is learning about the immediate community and the larger world surrounding it. Field trips may involve walking or the use of public transportation. Parental permission is required for a child to be included on trips outside of school. Each September parents are asked to complete a form granting permission for trips in the immediate neighborhood. Individual permission slips are sent home for all other field trips and parental authorization is necessary for children’s participation. In all cases, parents are notified beforehand. Parents are invited to attend field trips to maintain a one to four ratio of adult to child.
