WHY we fundraise at BHNS and HOW we do it

As with most independent schools, we rely on our fundraising to supplement tuition income as part of our annual budget. This year, BHNS will raise funds in two ways – the Annual Fund, and the Spring Auction & Gala.

ANNUAL FUND

Your support of the Annual Fund allows for our classroom sizes to remain small and our student-teacher ratios to remain uncommonly low, empowers us to retain and recruit top talent in our teaching staff, supports our robust financial aid program and enables us to continue to operate in our amazing urban location.  Under the leadership of our wonderful Executive Director Debra Sullivan the school achieved 100% participation from board and staff and 92% from current families. Your support is the reason we are able to bridge the gap between the cost of basic school operations and the exceptional quality that has become a tenet of the BHNS experience since 1955. AUCTION & GALA

The BHNS auction & gala is held each spring and is the school’s largest fundraising event of the year. Families can participate by attending the auction and bidding on items and/or by donating items to be auctioned. Most of all, the auction & gala is a social occasion for the BHNS community and is a lot of fun!

Our goal as a school is to make giving back feel good and a commitment worth making. With your support we are able to run a healthy financial aid program, keep classroom sizes small and teacher-to-student ratios high, retain first-rate teaching staff, and operate in our unique urban setting. Any and all support is valued, no gift is too small. Records are kept for accounting purposes, but only with the donors’ permission will the school publicly acknowledge gifts.
