Classroom Jobs
Below are a few more classroom jobs with descriptions. So far the children have been enjoying their classroom jobs!
Librarian
The classroom librarian is responsible for selecting a book from our classroom library for a teacher to read at the end of each morning. Thanks Ansel!
Name Tag Helper
The name tag helper is responsible for passing out the name tags for signing in to classroom areas during our classroom exploration time. They also help count the name tags after our exploration time to make sure everyone has put their name tag away. Thanks Ollie!
Attendance
The attendance helper is responsible for taking the ocean sign in animal name tags out of the coral reef to get ready for the next day of school. Thanks Caroline!
Canvas Work Part 2
Coral Room children worked on the second part of their painted canvases today. They used glue and open ended materials such as pom poms, ribbons, flowers and sequins to place onto their canvas. They are each unique pieces of art and we can’t wait to hang them up to make our classroom more colorful and beautiful with the work of the children. It’s our first finished project that we worked on in the Coral Room!
Classroom Explorations
With each day, Coral Room children are becoming more and more familiar with the routines of our day and the schedule. They are working hard throughout the morning in their classroom and are having fun. During our classroom exploration time, children are welcome to try any of the experiences offered to them and are enjoying time trying new things and playing with a variety of classmates. During our classroom exploration time, each child uses a name tag to “sign in” to each classroom area and each classroom area has a specified number of children allowed so each space doesn’t get too crowded. Having these name tags allows the children to keep their space safe if they need to step away from their play for a moment to use the bathroom or work on an activity with a teacher, to find something else to try if a space is full and to learn to wait patiently for a turn with an activity and/or material. They take their name tag with them as they travel to a new area and our name tag helper is responsible for counting the name tags at the end of our classroom exploration time.
Today the Coral Room children were busy threading beads onto string to make necklaces and bracelets, painting at the easels with water color paint palettes, exploring at the sensory table with water beads, containers and scoopers, building with tree blocks, dragons and monsters on the rug, taking care of the babies and cooking in the pretend area, decorating a tree with ocean animals at the light table, setting up the dollhouse at the mini table, building with magnet blocks and bugs and looking at books in the loft.
