Fall Changes, Painting Leaves and Sheryl Time
Fall Changes and Painting Fall Colors
This week is the start of fall! During our morning meeting, we talked about the four seasons (summer, fall, winter and spring), read a book about the different seasons and talked about how the season has changed from summer to fall. We asked the children if they knew about or noticed any changes happening around them and they were welcome to share what they knew/noticed during our group discussion. Children are excited to talk and share information during our group times and are learning to raise a hand and wait for their turn. Some of the things the children commented on were that leaves are falling off of the trees, some leaves are changing colors and that it is getting cooler. We talked about the colors that the leaves are turning and will be turning and children were invited to help paint a variety of different types of leaves red, yellow, orange and green which we will cut out for the children to add onto our tree. We can’t wait to see what it looks like once it is all put together!

Sheryl Time
Sheryl brought a sensory soap foam for the children to work with today. They pushed up their sleeves while Sheryl put piles of soap foam in front of them and they got their hands right into it to cover the table. They enjoyed the sensation of the foam on their hands and after spending time moving the foam around on the table, they practiced making different types of lines and shapes and practiced moving their hands in synchronicity while singing the song The Wheels on the Bus. It was a fun and messy activity and everyone was excited to try it!
