It was such a fun and busy Friday!

This week we have been talking about fall and reading lots of fall books. Some of our favorites have been "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Leaf" and "The Leaf Theif". These books inspired us to paint our own leaves to decorate our classroom today! Children used liquid watercolor paint at the easel to add red, yellow, and green to leaves. As they dried we began hanging them up in our windows!

We invited the children to use gems to "trace" lines drawn onto a large paper at the rectangle table today. We saw so many creative ways to use loose parts as the children worked, from lining them up to making their own shapes with the gems like flowers, circles, and hearts! One child brought over a Stabilo (chunky colored pencil) to add her own lines so we brought the rest over to see how this might add layers to our work!

Our playground time is a bit shorter on Fridays (until the back playground is finished) so we decided to get some extra gross motor time in the gym! We had so much fun!

See you next week!
