Happy 4th Birthday Teddy!
Today is our first JK Birthday! In JK North birthday celebrations are a two part event. Last week Teddy's parents came in and read a favorite book for the first part of his celebration. Part two is a long standing Junior Kindergartener tradition: Birthday Wishes. Before a child's birthday the class decorates a plant pot for the. On (or near) their birthday (or 1/2 birthday for those summer birthdays) the class gathers on the rug. The birthday child sits in front of the class with their pot filled with dirt. Then each member of the class goes up to plant a seed and make a wish. At the end of the day the birthday child brings home their pot to watch their wishes grow!
