Happy Tuesday, Purple Room Families!
Today, we continued celebrating the color RED!

Observational Drawings
Once a week, we will be doing observational drawings with our Purple Roomers based on what we are studying that week! This week,we put out several pictures of things that are red and we worked with students as they picked a red picture and drew it on a white piece of paper. Doing observational drawings every week is a wonderful way for us to track Purple Roomers progress throughout the year. When doing these drawings, students practice focusing their attention and looking closely at details. They also are encouraged to express what they see in their own unique way, fostering both creativity and critical thinking.

Question of the Day
Today's question of the day was: Do you like tomatoes, yes or no?
Teachers call children to cast their votes by giving clues about the letters and sounds of their names. Today we focused on the initial letter sound of each child's name. For example, "I'm thinking of a name that starts with /ch/.... Charlie!" This gives all children the opportunity to practice isolating sounds in words and familiarize themselves with the sounds letters make.

Closing Meeting
Today, Ms. Amy shared her All About Me Book! Tomorrow the children will begin sharing their books!
