Birthday Season is now OPEN!!!
Happy Birthday Sloane!!!
Today was a very special day in the Red Room!! After all our preparations (documented on Wednesday, 9/16 and Thursday, 9/17) we finally opened up our birthday season today with Sloane! Happy 3rd Birthday, Sloane!!! She turned three on September 13th and this morning we honored her special day. We had all her birthday treasures waiting for her on our floating table, birthday crown, veggie bag, and card! In honor of her special day we opened up our Birthday Bakery at the front table, made delicious scoops of ice cream at our Ice Cream Shop, prepared special treats in Pretend, and of course ended our discovery time with our musical birthday parade!! We're so excited to continue our celebrations this fall as all our red roomers enter their next year!
Front Floating Table Invitation to sign Sloane's birthday card!
As part of our birthday traditions, we invite each red roomer over to our card signing station. They get to choose their favorite colors and add their own design work. This is one of our favorite traditions because it invites your little ones to celebrate their community members and do something intentional for a friend!
Birthday Bakery
Today we added cupcake holders and a variety of colored gems for our bakers to use as decoration for all the birthday goodies! We made sure to make all of Sloane's favorites and of course endless birthday cake!
Pretend
It wouldn't be a red room birthday if friends didn't also head to the kitchen to prepare a variety of birthday treats for our honorary birthday girl!! And of course, making sure the babies were also well fed was a must. :)
Ice Cream Shop now OPEN!!!
I scream, you scream, we all scream for BIRTHDAY ICE CREAM!!
Birthday Parade!!!
Whenever we are celebrating a birthday we always conclude our choice time with our birthday parade! Children are invited to pick their favorite instrument from the basket as we sing and dance around the room! We usually start by singing the Happy Birthday song and the birthday friend gets to pick their three favorite songs for us to play! Today Sloane picked, Yankee Doodle, She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain, and We Are the Dinosaurs!
Morning Meeting
After our parade, we were off to morning meeting to present our Miss Sweet Pea with all her birthday treasures. We opened up meeting by counting to three as many difference ways we could think of. We clapped, whispered, stomped, patted our heads, shoulders, knees, elbows and cheeks. Friends shared with Sloane which part of her card they helped design and we concluded our meeting with singing her Happy Birthday as we passed along her veggie bag.
