Welcome to the Coral Room Part 2
Second Half Groups
Today we had our second half group of Coral Room children and we had a repeat performance of yesterday. Today’s group of children also spent time in the classroom becoming familiar with the different areas and materials as well as with each other and the routines of the day. We look forward to having everyone together tomorrow!
Birthday Pieces
Just like the group of Coral Room children who were in school yesterday, today’s group of kids spent time decorating a printed picture of a cupcake to add to our monthly calendar. This special calendar piece will help mark the date of each child’s birthday on our classroom calendar and we will easily be able to see and countdown to birthdays as they start coming up.
A Painting Project
Today's group of Coral Room helped paint another part of the coral reef that we will use for our daily sign in. This group was tasked with painting various shades of blue to help create the ocean water. We can’t wait to put it all together and have our first collaborative project completed.
Classroom Explorations
The group of children today enjoyed spending time exploring their classroom, working with different materials and spending time with friends. They were busy creating art with markers and stickers at the easels, exploring blue water with containers and scoopers at the sensory table, building with Magna-Tiles and construction vehicles on the rug, coloring pictures, exploring an ocean scene at the light table, setting up furniture and social scenarios with the dollhouse, playing in pretend, stringing beads to make jewelry, working with play dough, tools and cookie cutters and looking at books. We had a super second day in the Coral Room and can’t wait to have everyone together tomorrow!
