Beacon Hill Nursery School

The Beacon Hill Nursery School Summer Program is an 8 week creative learning adventure for children ages 2 years to 6 years. Children can enroll for as many weeks as they would like and the program is open to all children, whether they attend BHNS or not. The Summer Program offers a valuable transition time for children entering BHNS for the first time in the fall.

Our General Program, from 8:30am-1:00pm each day, includes activities such as arts & crafts, music, yoga, pretend & free play, science & nature, stories, and water play! Themes such as Tide Pools and Nature in the City are complemented with such guest performances and presenters as The Museum of Science, New England Aquarium, and Barn Babies. Our facilities are state of the art early childhood environments that provide optimum opportunities for indoor and outdoor activities. Our thoughtfully designed classrooms, child-centered library, and gymnasium are all air-conditioned and allow for a broad range of creative indoor activities. Children also enjoy two large, on-site natural playscapes that offer an abundance of nature and science activities. Our playscapes include several water features, such as a manual water pump, a waterfall, and a sprinkler or two hidden within the natural environment providing the ultimate experience in summer fun! Children bring their lunch to BHNS each day and a mid-morning snack is provided. Our General Program is staffed by many of the same experienced teachers who provide the enriching experiences during the school year. We maintain a 1:6 teacher to student ratio (1:4.5 for Toddlers).

Our Specialty Programs, for children at least 2.9 and older by the first day of the camp week, includes many of the same activities and experiences of our General Program and also features in-depth activities related to fun, engaging themes. This summer we are excited to announce that we will have four one-week Specialty Programs: Summer Theater Camp, Yoga & Mindfulness Camp, Spanish Camp, and STEM Camp. All children attend for five days from 8:30am-2:00pm. There is a special showcase for families at 1:30pm on Friday of each Specialty Program. Our Specialty Programs are staffed by BHNS faculty members who provide enriching experiences during the school year. We maintain as 1:6 teacher to student ratio for our Specialty Programs.

Children 2.9 and older in our General Program or Specialty Programs can add Extended Day until 3:30pm for an additional fee.

Registration is now open.

Please note our cancellation policy that any changes to registration after June 1 will incur a $25 change fee. No refunds for non-attendance or withdrawal after June 1st.
